FAQ
Where are you based?
I have a studio based in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire.
When is the best age to photograph my newborn?
I photograph newborns between 4-14 days old.
Do you only shoot with cream and neutral colours?
I predominantly shoot with creams and browns. However, I do have very limited pale pink and blue sets for those who want to incorporate a touch of colour to their session.
Can you add colours you don't have to the images?
No, I cannot add colours that haven't actually been used to the images. The colours and textures of the blankets, props and outfits that are used during the session are what will appear in the final edited images.
Will I have the choice of which outfits, blankets and props are used for the session?
I will have some bits out ahead of your session so that I can get started right away. However, during the session I will ask your preference with blankets and outfits.
When is payment due?
I require the £99 session fee ahead of the session. No edited images are released until full payment has been made for them.
Do you use flash lights?
No, I don't use flash lights. However, I do have an LED light wall which gives me continuous light throughout the session.
How will you get my other child/children to corporate?
It depends on their age. Older siblings tend to be pretty good and won't take much persuading. Younger siblings can be tricky and will more than likely need a lot of encouragement and bribing. I always have treats and a phone on standby to use if we need to. I also try to deal with the siblings myself as sometimes they play up more for parents. Key is to not get stressed and do whatever to just keep them happy!
How long is a newborn session?
Newborn sessions can take up to 3 hours. How long the session takes will solely depend on your baby and how settled they are during their session.
When is the best time to book in for a maternity or newborn session?
After your 20 week scan.
Do you provide all of the outfits and props?
I have a range of blankets, outfits and minimal props in the studio which I will use for the session.
Will you do any pose that the parents like or have seen done by other photographers?
My style of photography is very minimal and simple. I do not use big props, bright colours or anything that distracts the eye from the main subject which is the baby. I do not over pose or style my newborn session. If you are looking for really posed and styled images, I am not the right photographer for you.
What do we wear for the family/sibling images?
Anything neutral coloured works best. My go to would be creams and beiges as they are softer against the skin. Something simple and timeless. You will have full access to my client wardrobe too.
